At RayPaul Coating Inc. we offer contract powder coating services for a wide variety of industries and applications. Our state-of-the-art facility is equipped with the latest fully automated coating machinery. We utilize Nordson and Wagner application equipment, reciprocating gun movers and powder reclaiming capabilities for waste reduction. Substrates are pretreated using our customized process, including 5-stage washing in an automated chemical feed and pH controlled system. We expertly powder coat materials such as galvanized steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and galvaneal in a host of color options with custom color matching available. We offer coating with polyester, epoxy, and hybrid powders, with multiple coat finishes including rust inhibiting, anti-microbial, clear coating, and textured coatings to name a few. Coatings are cured in ovens reaching 400°F.
We can accommodate parts on our conveyorized systems up to 32″ wide x 6′ high x 14′ long, with a weight capacity of 75 pounds per hook. Our conveyors move at speeds of 21 ft/min, enabling us to achieve extremely tight turnaround times of 24 to 72 hours. RayPaul Coating’s batch oven system can handle parts 8′ wide x 10′ high x 30′ long, weighing up to 3000 lbs. We specialize in small quantity to large production runs, with prototyping available. Quality is serious to us, and we conduct vigorous in-process testing for curing, adhesion, and hardness. We also offer to document all QC procedures for our clients. Our procedures and products meet stringent standards set by ASTM and AAMA. The project highlighted here was for the powder coating of server box components for the communications industry. Per the customer’s specifications, RayPaul Coating’s experienced staff masked and plugged areas that needed to have no coating. The parts were hung on a conveyorized system, which can accommodate parts of dimensions up to 32″ wide, 6′ high, and 14′ long. Subseqently, the parts went through a custom, five-stage pretreatment washer to clean the parts and prepare the part surface. The pretreatment helped to ensure the complete bonding of the cured powder to the substrate. After going through the dry-off oven, the parts entered the paint booth where automatic and manual spray guns were used to apply the coating, per technical specifications, and in compliance with the customer’s requirements.
Quality control was maintained by a three stage part inspection on components from start to finish. Coating quality was ensured through full coverage check, mil thickness check, pencil hardness test, and crosshatch test to verify curing and adhesion.
RayPaul Coating provided specialty packaging services for the finished product, per customer’s specifications. This project represents runs from small to large, with turnovers of 24-72 hours.
